Indonesia Sends Humanitarian Aid to Palestine in a Show of Solidarity

JAKARTA, November 4, 2023 – President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (@jokowi), announced via his official Twitter account on November 4, 2023, the successful dispatch of humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine. The aid, weighing 51.5 tons, was sent with the assistance of three aircraft, carrying essential logistical supplies required by the people in Gaza, to El Arish Airport in Egypt. From there, the aid was further distributed to Gaza.

In his tweet, President Joko Widodo expressed gratitude and said, “Thank God, this morning Indonesia sent aid to the Palestinian people.” He emphasized that this initial aid shipment was made possible through contributions from various sectors, including the government, society, and the business community, with further assistance being prepared by the government.

The President highlighted that sending humanitarian assistance to Palestine is a manifestation of Indonesia’s solidarity and concern for the well-being of the Palestinian people. He also reiterated his firm stance on ending the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, stressing that it is unacceptable and must be halted without delay. (*)
