Netherlands Supports Ukraine with Additional Defense Measures and Aid

In a recent tweet from the official Twitter account of the Minister-president van Nederland, Mark Rutte (@MinPres), the Netherlands has pledged its continued support to Ukraine amidst the ongoing tensions with Russia. The tweet, posted on October 13, 2023, expressed gratitude to President @ZelenskyyUA for the invitation and warm reception during their visit to the Ukrainian port city of Odesa.

“We remain committed to supporting Ukraine, for as long as necessary,” said Minister-president Rutte. “The terrible events in Israel and Gaza do not distract us; they strengthen our conviction that we must never surrender to aggression and terrorism.”

Concerned about potential harm to Ukraine by Russia during the upcoming winter, the Netherlands has decided to provide additional Patriot missiles to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities. This move aims to enable Ukraine to defend itself against the barbaric air attacks from Russia.

During their visit to the port of Odesa, the Dutch delegation witnessed firsthand the hard work of Ukrainian citizens in maintaining operations under challenging circumstances. In light of this, the Netherlands has pledged to assist Ukraine in obtaining patrol boats that will contribute to ensuring the safety of the shipping route for grain exports.

The Netherlands’ commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression highlights its determination to stand against any threats to peace and security in the region. (*)
